Counselor's Corner > ACT information
ACT is the most widely utilized comprehensive assessment testing students knowledge in mathematics, English/grammar, science and reading in the Midwest. ACT is typically taken by high school juniors in the spring and seniors early in the fall. It tells students how well they use the skills and knowledge they have attained in and outside of the classroom—including how they think, solve problems, and communicate. Most colleges in South Dakota require an 18 or above for admission. Students may register via paper form by seeing the counselor for a packet or online at www.actstudent.org
