Requirements
- High School senior or student receiving an accredited high school diploma or GED
- Plan to attend an institution of higher learning
- Direct descendant of a US military veteran (veteran refers to former and current members of the US Armed Forces, including the National Guard)
- SD resident
- High School Transcript
- Three letters of recommendation from each of the following outlining your character, Americanism and activities
- Member of the clergy or community service organization
- An educator
- Business person or civil leader
- A copy of the qualifying military member's service record (e.g. DD-214, Points Statement)
Amount $500 (preference may be given to a student attending an institute of higher learning in South Dakota)
