Eligibility
Requirements
  • SD resident at the time of high school graduation
  • ACT composite of 24 or higher or a combined 1070 SAT
  • Complete Regents Scholar curriculum (4 units English, 3 units social studies, 4 units algebra or higher math, 4 units of science to include 3 units of a lab science, 1/2 unit of computer science, 1 unit of fine arts and 2 units of the same foreign language or sign language) with NO final grade below a C.
  • Cumulative high school GPA of 3.0
  • Attend a university, college or technical school in the North Central Association and provides instruction from a campus located in SD
  • Enter into a program within 5 years of high school graduation or within 1 year of release from active duty
  • Must participate in SD Opportunity Scholarship Program for the equivalent of 4 academic years (eight consecutive fall and spring terms) OR until attaining a baccalaureate, associate or technical degree whichever comes first.

  • Copy of ACT or SAT score if not located on transcript
 
Amount $1,000 (first through third year of attendance; $2,000 forth year of attendance)
