Eligibility
Requirements
  • Junior member of the SD American Legion Auxiliary for the past 3 years
  • Graduating senior
  • Essay no more than 1,000 words on the topic " America, We Remember"
  • High School Transcript
  • Brief statement of the military sevice of the person through whom applicant is eligible, including branch of service, dates of service or photcopy of vertern's discharge papers
  • Three letters of recommendation from each of the following:
    1. School administrator or guidance counselor
    2. Clergy of applicant's choice
    3. Adult citizen, other than a relative, attesting to the applicant's character in rgard to conduct, citizenship and leadership
