ELIGIBILITY In order to qualify as an applicant, you must meet the following criteria: • Be the son or daughter of an active member of the Alexandria Fire Department. • Submit a written essay on the subject: How has having a parent(s) on the Alexandria Fire Department affected and/or influenced my life. • Financial need does not affect the offering of this scholarship. • If there is an academic year in which no student of an active Alexandria Fire Department member is in the senior class at Hanson High School, the scholarship will at that time be open to any Hanson High School student going into EMS/Firefighter or Medical secondary education.
